KAMLOOPS — A man remains in police custody after a break-in to a downtown business last weekend.

Kamloops RCMP say the break and enter reportedly took place at around 4:15 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, where two people broke into a business on the 1000-block of Victoria Street, stole items then left through the back entranceway.

“While responding to another call for service, police recognized the male suspect and arrested him for that morning’s break and enter,” Cpl. Crystal Evelyn states in a news release issued Friday (Sept. 27). “Shortly after, a female suspect was also identified, located, and arrested.”

While the man was later released with conditions and a court date, police say he was arrested again the next morning in relation to another investigation. He remains in custody due to the new charges.
