KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP responded to approximately 381 calls for service from Friday, Sept. 20 to 9:00 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 23, 2024. Below are some incidents police attended.

Loaded shotgun found in truck stolen from Barriere

Officers responded to the 200-block of Columbia Street in downtown Kamloops at around 11:35 a.m. Sunday for a report of suspicious activity.

RCMP say officers found a GMC Sierra pickup truck reported stolen out of Barriere earlier Sunday. A suspect then emerged from a basement window on Third Avenue and ran away.

As part of the investigation, police say they found a wallet which had been reported as stolen from across the street, as well as a loaded shotgun.

Drugs and guns seized

Tk’emlups Rural RCMP seized more than half a dozen guns and more than seven ounces of suspected cocaine during a traffic stop at around 11:00 p.m. Saturday.

RCMP say a white Dodge Ram pickup truck was seen leaving the area of a single-vehicle collision and had several occupants inside.

The drugs and guns were seized as part of the investigation.

Downtown break-in

RCMP are looking for information related to a break-in on the 800-block of Sixth Avenue.

Officers responded to the home on Saturday where it’s believed to have been broken into sometime earlier in the week while the homeowners were away. Police say the contents inside the home were extensively damaged.

Anyone who witnessed the reported break-in or has information or security and dash-camera video in the area is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP.
