KAMLOOPS — RCMP say a motorcyclist who was reported overdue after a Sunday (Sept. 22) motorcycle ride has been found dead.

In a news release, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says the man was reported just before midnight Sunday night. He had gone on a solo motorcycle ride earlier in the day.

Police patrolled near Lac Le Jeune and Timber Lake, a favourite riding area for the man, but did not locate him.

During the noon hour Monday, RCMP were called to help out Kamloops Fire Rescue with a single-vehicle motorcycle fatality.

“Sadly, the man and his yellow Harley Davidson motorcycle were located off of the roadway and appear to have crashed,” said Evelyn. “The Kamloops RCMP Traffic Unit is investigating the collision with support from a BC Highway Patrol reconstructionist. We are asking anyone who may have observed the victim riding in the area or has dash-camera footage available that could be related, to please contact police as soon as possible.”

The BC Coroners Service is also investigating.
