RCMP looking for missing man who fell in Fraser River near Lillooet

LILLOOET, B.C. — Lillooet RCMP are asking for the public’s help in finding a missing man who had fallen into the Fraser River.

On Sept. 6 at around 5:15 p.m., RCMP say a caller reported a man had fallen into the river near the 6 Mile fishing grounds off Highway 99 in Lillooet.

According to witnesses, Randall Alvis Ned was fishing with a dip net when the current pulled on his fishing tool and took him into the water.

In a news release issued Monday (Sept. 16) night, RCMP say Lillooet Road Rescue helped with an aerial drone patrol, while the Department of Fisheries carried out a water search by boat. Pemberton Search and Rescue also responded with a helicopter and water search

“A total of three boats were launched for patrols. Three swift water teams were engaged. The patrols were conducted late into the evening and unfruitful,” RCMP state.

Ned is described as an Indigenous man standing 5’9” and weighing 150 lbs. He has a clean-shaven face with grey hair. RCMP say he was last seen wearing a green long sleeve shirt and blue pants with dark coloured hiking boots.
