Kamloops RCMP working to identify deceased man found in Thompson River

KAMLOOPS — The body of a man was found in the Thompson River early Wednesday (Sept. 11) night.

Kamloops RCMP say officers responded to an area near McArthur Island Park at around 5:45 p.m. Wednesday and were able to retrieve the man’s body near the shoreline.

In a news release issued Thursday morning, RCMP say officers are working with the BC Coroners Service.

“At this time, we’re still working to confirm the identity of the deceased person,” Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says.
