Suspicious driver in white minivan attempted to pick up child in Salmon Arm: RCMP
SALMON ARM, B.C. — RCMP in Salmon Arm are asking residents to review their surveillance and dashcam video after a suspicious driver in a white minivan reportedly attempted to pick up a child.
RCMP say officers received the report on Tuesday (Sept. 10) where the minivan approached an elementary school-aged child on the 300-block of 30th Street NE and offered to drive them somewhere. The child declined and ran away while the minivan sped off in the opposite direction.
In a news release, police say the child was unharmed. They returned home and told their parent who then reported the incident to police.
The make and model of the minivan is unknown, and no license plate was recorded, but RCMP say it was described as having a cracked windshield, slightly tinted back windows, dents on the driver and passenger side doors and a “Do or Die” sticker with a picture of a school on the rear window.
