VERNON — The new local provincial election candidate has a focus on health care and affordability.
The Conservative Party of B.C. (CPBC) named Dennis Giesbrecht as the candidate for the Vernon-Lumby riding in the upcoming fall provincial election.
Giesbrecht, grew up in Logan Lake and lives in Kamloops, but plans to move to Vernon in the coming months, told Vernon Matters he used to come to Vernon all the time when he was young and playing hockey. He said he was in the process of moving to the area as it is close to Kalamalka Lake and SilverStar Resort, so he can easily take the boat out in the summer and go skiing in the winter.
Giesbrecht was previously named the candidate in the Kamloops Centre riding, but the party decided to move him to Vernon-Lumby following the announcement of B.C. United pulling out all its candidates for the upcoming election.
