Golden Greg, again: Stewart of Kamloops wins second straight Paralympic gold medal in men’s F46 shotput
PARIS — Greg Stewart of Kamloops has gone back-to-back.
The 7-foot-2 Kamloops Track and Field Club athlete won the gold medal in the men’s F46 shotput event at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris with a season-best throw of 16.38 metres. His best attempt of the day beat out Sachin Sarjerao Khilari of India and Luka Bakovic of Croatia who finished with best throws of 16.32 and 16.27 metres respectively.
Khilari’s second throw of 16.32 metres had him in the lead early but Stewart overtook the top spot with his third throw of 16.34 metres. Stewart marginally cushioned his lead with his fifth throw of 16.38 metres.
