SALMON ARM, B.C. — A lifelong Shuswap resident will have his name on the ballot for the upcoming provincial election.

The B.C. Greens announced that Jeb Wiebe, described as a passionate advocate for sustainable agriculture, is the party’s candidate for the Salmon Arm-Shuswap Riding.

Wiebe, who co-owns an organic elderberry farm where they prioritize environmental stewardship and ethical business practices, is also actively involved in environmental advocacy through Neighbours United, where he campaigns for biodiversity and ecosystem health.

The party announced Wiebe as the Salmon Arm-Shuswap candidate along with three others. The Greens will have Kerri Wall appearing on the ballot in the Kootenay-Rockies riding, Francoise Renault running in Vancouver-Fraserview, and Carrie McLaren as the candidate for Burnaby-South Metrotown.

“Kerri, Carrie, Jed and Francoise are exactly the kind of thoughtful, committed, and compassionate leaders we need,” B.C. Greens Leader Sonia Fustenau said in a release. “Together, they will work tirelessly to ensure that every British Columbian can thrive in a fair and sustainable society.”

The provincial election will go on Oct. 19.
