Lillooet emergency department temporarily closed for sixth time in August

LILLOOET, B.C. — The emergency department in Lillooet will be unavailable for a portion of the Labour Day long weekend.
In a news release, Interior Health states the emergency department at Lillooet Hospital and Health Centre is temporarily closed from 7:00 a.m. Saturday (Aug. 31) to 8:00 a.m. Sunday due to “limited physician availability.”
Residents in Lillooet and area who need life-threatening emergency care are asked to call 9-1-1 or visit Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops during the closure. All other inpatient services at the Lillooet hospital will continue as normal.
It’s the sixth temporary closure of the Lillooet emergency department in August and the seventh overall in 2024.
