Remaining evacuated properties in Venables Valley given all clear status by TNRD

SPENCES BRIDGE, B.C. — The Thompson-Nicola Regional District’s (TNRD) final evacuation order related to the Shetland Creek wildfire near Spences Bridge has been lifted.

As of 12:00 p.m. Wednesday (Aug. 28), the TNRD says nearly 12 properties within the community of Venables Valley have been given an all clear status.

Should conditions change, the TNRD says an evacuation order or alert will be reinstated as necessary.

There are no other active evacuation orders or alerts issued by the TNRD.

As of noon Tuesday, the wildfire service lists the fire danger for the Kamloops Fire Centre as mostly very low.
