Aug 26, 2024 | 3:39 PM
KAMLOOPS — As a result of decreased temperatures, increased precipitation, higher relative humidity and good recoveries overnight, Category 1 campfires will be permitted in the Kamloops Fire Centre effective at noon on Wednesday (Aug. 28).
Chimineas, tiki torches and similar torches will also be permitted when the Category 1 ban is rescinded on Wednesday, according to the BC Wildfire Service.
Category 2 and Category 3 open fires are prohibited until noon on Oct. 11 or until the orders are rescinded.
Also restricted are fireworks, sky lanterns, binary exploding targets, air curtain burners and burn barrels or burn cages.
