Clearwater among the North Thompson communities impacted by overnight power outage

CLEARWATER, B.C. — Thousands of residents in the North Thompson will be without power Thursday (Aug. 22) morning.

BC Hydro says 1,724 customers in Blackpool and Clearwater, along with hundreds others in Highway 5 North communities such as Avola, Blue River, Thunder River and Vavenby, have been without power since 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The cause of the outage is “planned work being done on [BC Hydro] equipment.”

BC Hydro states crews are on site and power is expected to be restored at 11:30 a.m. Thursday.
