LILLOOET, B.C. — The emergency department at Lillooet Hospital and Health Centre will be temporarily closed again this week.
In a news release, Interior Health states the emergency department in Lillooet won’t be available from 7:00 a.m. Wednesday (Aug. 21) to 7:00 a.m. Thursday (Aug. 22) due to “limited physician availability.” It comes following a 49-hour closure from Sunday to Tuesday.
Residents in Lillooet and area who are in need of life-threatening emergency care are asked to call 9-1-1 or visit Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops.
It’s the fifth temporary closure of the emergency department in Lillooet in 2024, and the fourth in August alone.
