Goalkeeper from Vancouver to play for WolfPack

Luca Ortu has joined the TRU WolfPack men’s soccer team.

Ortu, a 6-foot-1 goalkeeper from Vancouver, will join the Canada West club in time for the 2024 U Sports campaign, which gets underway with a match against the Victoria Vikes on Aug. 23 on Vancouver Island.

“I chose TRU not only to continue my academic journey but also my soccer journey,” Ortu said in a WolfPack press release. “I think I bring a different perspective with my soccer background also having played a bit in Europe. I am a great teammate and hope to build a good relationship with the guys.”

Ortu plans to study history at TRU.

“Over the last year we’ve been able to see Luca play in League1 BC (for Altitude FC) and he’s been very good there,” WolfPack head coach John Antulov said in the release.
