PARIS, FRANCE — Matt Berger of Kamloops will have to wait to begin his quest for gold at the Olympic Summer Games in Paris,
He was scheduled to begin preliminary round action in men’s street skateboarding on Saturday (July 27), but rain poured on the outdoor urban park venue to force the event’s postponement.
The competition has been rescheduled to Monday (July 29), with Berger’s heat to hit the street at 3 a.m.
Meanwhile, South Kamloops secondary graduate Kelly Olynyk and Team Canada will square off against Greece in men’s basketball on Saturday at the Games, with tip-off slated for noon.
