TNRD enacts evacuation near Little Fort for Dunn Creek wildfire

LITTLE FORT, B.C. — The Thompson Nicola Regional District has ordered the evacuation of four properties near Little Fort thanks to the advancing Dunn Creek wildfire.

Meantime, the TNRD has declared a state of local emergency for Electoral Area ‘O’.

The properties affected by the evacuation order are 10570, 10665, 10615 and 10569 Dunn Lake Road.

To arrange emergency support services (ESS), residents are advised to contact Clearwater ESS at 250-674-1253.

The TNRD has also a total of 32 properties on evacuation alert — on Bradshaw, Dunn Lake, McCarthy Creek and Windpass Roads.

The Dunn Creek wildfire was discovered on Monday and is measured at 1,261 hectares as of Thursday evening (July 25). The B.C. Wildfire Service believes it was caused by lightning.
