KAMLOOPS — This Sunday (July 29), one of Kamloops’ signature culinary events is set to take place at Privato Winery.

The Farm2Chefs grazing event sees collaboration between local farmers and producers as well as many talented chefs from throughout the region. Chefs use local produce to create delectable food, which is paired with locally-made beverages, all for those with tickets to the event to enjoy.

“We sold out of all our early bird tickets. I checked [Wednesday] morning, and we had about 30 tickets left for the event, so we’ll be close to a sellout of 300,” Jared Summers, president of the Farm2Chefs Collaborative, explains. “Those will surely go in the next couple of days, so if people haven’t got their tickets yet, they’ll want to grab them in the next couple of days.”

The event raises funds for food-related causes in the Kamloops community. This year, BGC Kamloops — the former Boys and Girls Club — will be the recipient of the Farm2Chefs grant.

“They’re going to use those funds for their necessities nook, which is a program they run where youth in need can access non-perishable food, as well as some necessities like toiletries, things like that,” Summers explains. “They’re really looking forward to this, and I’m hoping to raise a lot of money for them. I think it’s a great cause.”

The event is still looking for a few volunteers, and there are some tickets available. For more information, you can visit www.farm2chefs.com
