Advisories in place for users of Clearwater, Lac La Hache water systems
CLEARWATER and LAC LA HACHE, B.C. — The District of Clearwater has made an urgent request to users of its water system that they reduce their usage.
In a Voyent Alert! message, the district says it wants to ensure the system has sufficient capacity to support firefighting efforts.
On Tuesday (July 23), the district noted a peak usage of 6,600 cubic metres, saying that is as much as the City of Vernon uses during winter months. Vernon is roughly 17 times the population of Clearwater.
Clearwater asks users to limit lawn watering to between 7:00 and 10:00 a.m., and 7:00 and 10:00 p.m. on odd or even days, depending on house numbers.
