Highly visible wildfire ignites in Lac du Bois Grasslands above Brocklehurst

KAMLOOPS — A new fire start in the Lac du Bois Grasslands north of Brocklehurst is highly visible from Kamloops.

The fire is one of dozens that have popped up in the B.C. Interior since a lightning storm moved through Monday night (July 22).

According to the B.C. Wildfire Service (BCWS), the Wheeler Mountain fire in the Lac du Bois area is still under one hectare in size.

BCWS aircraft can be seen dropping water on and around the blaze.
