Alleged downtown Kamloops firebug arrested

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP were called to the area of Fourth Avenue and Nicola Street on Friday (July 19) evening after a man was reported to have lit grass on fire and walked away.
Police note in a news release they found the suspect as he was allegedly lighting two more fires.
Multiple officers fought the flames with fire extinguishers and the suspect was arrested following a pursuit on foot.
The suspect was assessed by the Integrated Crisis Response Team and released from custody with a court date and conditions.
