NorthPaws swept at home by NightOwls, prepare for six-game road trip
KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops NorthPaws were swept at home by the Nanaimo NightOwls over the weekend.
After two tighter losses of 2-1 on Friday (July 19) and 6-4 on Saturday, the NorthPaws were blown out by the NightOwls 12-2 on Sunday from Norbrock Stadium.
The NorthPaws fall to 12-27 overall on the 2024 West Coast League (WCL) season, and 5-8 in the second half. The NorthPaws trail the Wenatchee Applesox for first place in the North Division in the second half of the season by 3.5 games.
The WCL’s playoff procedure sees four teams each from the North and South Division. The first playoff spot is given to the top team in the first half of the season, the second playoff spot to the top team in the second half and the third and fourth spots to the two teams with the best overall records who did not win the first or second half.
