KAMLOOPS — Goals were aplenty at Hillside Stadium Sunday (July 14), but Rivers FC’s men’s and women’s squads fell to TSS Rovers from Richmond.

The men were officially eliminated from League1 BC postseason contention after Rivers FC fell 4-2. Rivers FC and TSS Rovers traded a pair of goals in the first half – Ryan Lewis and Elijah Dos Santos scored for Kamloops’ soccer club – but the club at the top of the League1 BC table scored two goals in the second half to leave the Tournament Capital with the win.

On the women’s side, Rivers FC dropped a 5-2 match to TSS Rovers. Kate Rattee scored in the 60th minute to get Rivers on the board and Cara Freeman scored four minutes into stoppage time to cut the deficit to 3-2, but TSS Rivers proceeded to score two goals in three added minutes to secure the win.

Rivers FC’s men’s record falls to three wins, one draw and seven losses, good for 10 points in 11 matches. The men are sixth in the League1 BC table and are four points behind Harbourside FC from Nanaimo for the fourth and final postseason spot with one match remaining, meaning they will not advance to the postseason.
