NorthPaws start slow, fall to Riverhawks in Edmonton

EDMONTON — Surrendering five runs in the first inning is not conducive to winning baseball.

The Kamloops NorthPaws learned that lesson on Saturday (July 6) in Edmonton, where they fell 13-3 to the hometown Riverhawks in West Coast League action.

Jacob Schlesselman had two hits in a losing effort for the NorthPaws, who dropped to 1-1 in second-half standings and 8-20 overall.

Edmonton — 1-1 in the second half and 19-10 overall — will wrap its three-game weekend series against Kamloops on Sunday (July 7) in the Alberta capital.
