Police investigate early-morning drowning in Okanagan Lake
KELOWNA, B.C. — Mounties in Kelowna say they are working to recover the body of a man who drowned in Okanagan Lake early Saturday morning.
They say officers, alongside Central Okanagan Search and Rescue and the Kelowna Fire Department, responded to a report of the drowning near the Kelowna Downtown Marina around 4:30 a.m.
Police say first responders were unable to recover the man’s body and were still waiting for the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team around mid-morning.
They say the cause of death has not yet been confirmed, but it does not appear suspicious.
