Environment Canada issues severe thunderstorm watch for Kamloops and surrounding regions

KAMLOOPS — A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for Kamloops and area.
Environment Canada issued the notice for the 100 Mile, Nicola, North and South Thompson and Shuswap regions shortly after 10:00 a.m. Wednesday (June 26).
The weather agency states conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and torrential rain.
Additionally, there’s an increased risk of debris flowing over burned areas.
