KAMLOOPS — A man was found dead in the Thompson River Sunday (June 23) morning.
In a news release issued Tuesday morning, Kamloops RCMP say officers were called to the 1700-block of Clifford Avenue near McArthur Island at around 7:10 a.m. Sunday for a report of what appeared to be a deceased person in the water near a dock.
“Based on what was observed during the initial police attendance, the person appeared to have been in the water for sometime,” Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says. “We are still working to confirm the person’s identity and notify his next of kin.”
