Man arrested on Kamloops North Shore, in possession of handgun stolen out of Texas
KAMLOOPS — A handgun flagged as stolen out of Texas ended up on the Kamloops North Shore.
Kamloops RCMP say officers responded to a parking lot in the 1100-block of Eighth Street at around 10:00 a.m. Tuesday (June 18) where a man was slumped over the steering wheel of a black car. In a news release issued Friday morning, RCMP say he was reported as possibly impaired.
“During the impaired driving investigation, officers located drug paraphernalia near the driver, as well as a loaded pistol,” Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says. “The driver was the lone occupant in the vehicle and a person known to police.”
Police say the suspect was arrested, received a 24-hour driving prohibition for drug impairment and a court date for offences related to possession of the gun.
