Severe thunderstorm watch in place for Kamloops, Merritt

KAMLOOPS — Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the Kamloops and Merritt areas.

The watch is in effect for much for the Southern Interior, including the South Thompson, Nicola and Okanagan.

The forecaster says conditions are ripe for severe thunderstorms to form, which may bring large hail, damaging wind and heavy rain.
