Guns, stolen vehicles seized from North Shore property
KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP say a seizure of guns and stolen vehicles on the North Shore this week was likely gang related.
In a news release, detachment spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says at about 7:30 a.m. on Monday (June 10), police were alerted to a suspicious person in the 100-block of Cedar Street. The person was going through a newer model Ford pickup truck.
Officers who responded confirmed the truck and another vehicle on the property, a Ford SUV in the back alley, were both stolen.
“With assistance from the Police Dog Service, frontline officers located and seized two firearms and recovered two stolen vehicles as part of the investigation,” said Evelyn. “While officers were on scene, several criminals known by police to be connected to the drug trade and violent crimes were identified and arrested or detained.”
