Motorcycle incident closes Fortune Drive Thursday

KAMLOOPS — UPDATE (12:00 p.m.): Kamloops RCMP have confirmed one of the detachment’s members was injured in the incident on Fortune Drive.

In a brief news release, Cpl. Dana Napier says the collision took place just after 11:00 a.m. Thursday between a police motorcycle and another vehicle.

Napier says an officer was taken to hospital as a result of the collision. The extent of the officer’s injuries is not known.

Napier encourages anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has video to call Kamloops RCMP at (250) 828-3000 and refer to file number 2024-17296.

EARLIER: Traffic is blocked off in both directions on a stretch of Fortune Drive on the North Shore.
