One dead in crash near Salmon Arm

SALMON ARM, B.C. — A fatal collision occurred on the Trans Canada Highway west of Salmon Arm Tuesday evening.

RCMP say emergency crews were called to the scene of a crash on the highway near 3rd Nations Rd. at approximately 5:54 p.m. May 21.

A west-bound pickup truck reportedly collided with an east-bound semi truck.

The driver and sole occupant of the pickup was pronounced dead at the scene, while the semi driver was uninjured.

Police said witnesses reported the pickup crossed the centre line, narrowly missed a passenger vehicle, and then side-swiped the semi truck.
