KAMLOOPS — On Sunday (May 19), thousands of dapper gentlefolk will ride their classic and vintage style motorcycles across the world to raise funds for men’s mental health and prostate cancer research.

The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride happens every year and for the second consecutive time Kamloops will host its own parade.

“The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride is a worldwide ride on motorbikes, generally classic or classic style bikes. And it’s a fundraiser for men’s health. What we’re going to do is a nice little parade through town. We dress up all dapper and just try to raise money as much as we can,” explained Jon Fulton, one of the organizers of the event.

All money raised goes to Movember – and the goal is to raise awareness on this important issue.

“The issue of men’s health is something that is usually not talked about, especially among men. So I think by gathering together and celebrating the old style bikes, by dressing up and having that camaraderie, we can actually break some of those barriers down and actually talk about these issues that plague all men,” said Fulton.

Donations can be made on the Gentleman’s Ride website and those who own a classic bike can still sign up to join the parade – that leaves 10 a.m. on Sunday, from the A&W on Fortune Drive.
