Power knocked out to parts of East Kamloops, Tk’emlups Thursday

KAMLOOPS — UPDATE: As of 1:00 p.m., BC Hydro says the power has been restored.
EARLIER: Strong wind gusts Thursday morning (May 16) have been accompanied by problems with the power grid in Kamloops.
According to BC Hydro, the largest outage in the community affects Valleyview, Rose Hill and Juniper Ridge, as well as parts of the Tk’emlups Reserve.
The utility says 571 customers are affected by the outage, which was reported just after 11:30 a.m.
