Kamloops RCMP scoop man accused of stealing ice cream, coming back for seconds
KAMLOOPS — A Kamloops man traded his cups and cones for cuffs after apparently ordering a double scoop of ice cream theft.
Kamloops RCMP say officers were told of a theft of ice cream from a business on Lorne Street just before 8:00 p.m. Friday (May 10). While not mentioned in the news release issued by police Wednesday, Scoopz Ice Cream Parlour is located on Lorne Street.
The suspect ran away, but RCMP say he later returned to try and get more ice cream. Police also received two disturbance reports involving the same suspect on Victoria Street.
Police found and arrested a suspect on Lansdowne Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues. He was kept in cells to prevent further ice cream thefts and released without process, as per the property representatives’ request at the time.
