KAMLOOPS — A small fire at a North Shore business early Monday (May 13) morning is being treated as an arson case.

In a news release issued Wednesday (May 15), Kamloops RCMP say officers and firefighters were called to a business on the 100-block of Wilson Street at around 4:20 a.m. Monday where a window was smashed, and a small fire was burning inside a building.

RCMP say they discovered the fire began at around 2:10 a.m. when a suspect was seen breaking a window and throwing a combustible object inside.

The suspect is described as wearing a camouflage toque, surgical mask, dark jacket or sweater, red gloves, black pants, and black shoes with white soles, and departed on a mountain bike. Police say it’s unknown if the incident is connected to any other recent arson reports.
