Suspect search underway after Bob’s Mini-Mart in Merritt robbed at gunpoint

MERRITT — RCMP in Merritt are searching for a suspect in a robbery that took place at about 1:40 p.m. on Friday (May 10).

A photo released to media on Friday shows a man holding what appears to be a gun and pointing it at a clerk at Bob’s Mini-Mart at 2801 Clapperton Ave.

The RCMP also released a photo of a two-door Fiat that may be associated with the suspect.

The suspect is a 5-foot-8 or 5-foot-9 Caucasian male, with facial hair and a large tattoo on his right arm, possibly a wave-pattern tattoo.

“The risk to the public remains unknown at this time, however, it appears targeted towards carrying out a robbery,” Cpl. James Grandy said in a press release.
