Williams Lake school evacuated due to bear spray incident
WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — Columneetza Junior Secondary School in Williams Lake was evacuated Friday morning (May 10) after a bear spray incident.
In a news release, Insp. Rob Lake of the Williams Lake RCMP detachment says officers were called to the school at about 10:16 a.m. for the report that a student had hit another student with the spray.
Residual spray made its way into the school’s ventilation system, causing several other people to suffer from irritation to their eyes.
Emergency Health Services attended to treat those affected.
