KAMLOOPS — RCMP aren’t saying whether a raid on a Brocklehurst home Thursday evening (May 9) is related to the ongoing gang battle taking place in Kamloops.

According to witnesses, officers raided a duplex in the 1600-block of Tranquille Road early Thursday evening.

Witnesses claim officers had to break down the door to one side of the duplex with a battering ram, and describe hearing what sounded like a flash bang being used.

“Yesterday there was a police presence on Tranquille Road at a residence, related to an ongoing investigation,” Kamloops RCMP’s Cpl. Crystal Evelyn told CFJC on Friday (May 10), “Due to the risk assessment attached to it, the Southeast District Emergency Response Team attended to assist.”

No one was arrested, and police say details related to items seized from the home are part of an ongoing investigation.

Evelyn says RCMP can’t provide more information about the incident at this time, to protect the integrity of their investigation.
