KAMLOOPS — It’s not just about the WHL Prospects Draft for the Kamloops Blazers’ front office Thursday (May 9). The team announced a trade in the morning, bolstering its blueline and moving a goaltender.
In a news release, Assistant General Manager Tim O’Donovan says Kamloops has acquired defenceman Niko Tsakumis and a draft pick from the Everett Silvertips for goaltender Jesse Sanche.
Tsakumis, a 2005-born blueliner from Richmond, has 101 games on his WHL resume, with five goals and 19 assists for 24 points.
The draft pick will come in the second round of the 2026 WHL Prospects Draft.
