Blackpool Fire confirms one person tragically died in Wednesday structure fire

BLACKPOOL, B.C. — The Blackpool Fire Department is reporting that one person sadly died in a structure fire yesterday in the community south of Clearwater.
“Blackpool fire responded to a fully involved residential structure fire (Wednesday) with the report of someone still trapped inside. Mutual aid was requested from Little Fort fire and Clearwater fire given the situation and the size of the structure,” reads a social media post from the Fire Department.
According to reports, the fire was on Cutts Road.
“On Call Services were called to provide large water volume to support fire suppression efforts,” continues the post. “Despite initial efforts to locate the missing person near the doorway crews were forced back by fire flashover and intense smoke and flames and rapid fire spread.”
