KAMLOOPS — An aerial spraying campaign announced by B.C.’s Ministry of Forests last month is taking place over downtown Kamloops Wednesday morning (May 8).
The spraying program is aimed at the invasive spongy moth.
A plane began spraying neighbourhoods as dawn broke before 6:00 a.m. Wednesday.
The substance being sprayed is Foray 48B, a biological insecticide used in organic farming. In its initial news release, the ministry said the spray only affects moth and butterfly caterpillars after they ingest it.
