TRU men’s volleyball fills need with new middle

KAMLOOPS — After seeing their starting middle graduate last season, the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack have committed to a new big man.

Jakob Leinemann has committed to the WolfPack after spending two season with Capilano University.

“Jakob fills one our biggest off-season needs, an experienced middle,” said Hennelly. “We knew that we needed size and experience in the middle and Jakob is the perfect fit.”

Suiting up in 34 games over the last two season for the Capilano Blues, Leinemann tallied 109 kills, 21 service aces and 40 blocks in the 71 sets that he played last season.

“I chose TRU because I believe Pat’s support can greatly benefit me in my academic and athletic pursuits,” said Leinemann.

The middle from Kelowna stands 6’9” bringing needed size to the ‘Pack roster ahead of the season.

“I’m a passionate middle blocker that is loud on the court and asks for the best from my teammates,” added Leinemann. “I bring size and athleticism to the men’s volleyball roster. I also bring enthusiasm and passion to the court.”
