Environment Canada issues special weather statement for Coquihalla between Hope and Merritt

MERRITT, B.C. — A special weather statement has been issued for the Coquihalla Highway between Hope and Merritt, as well as section of Highway 3.
“Snow levels will remain at or below mountain pass levels in southern BC from tonight into Monday. A Pacific frontal system is approaching the South Coast. It will cross through BC tonight and exit by late Monday. Snowfall accumulations are expected but will vary depending on location,” reads the weather statement.
The sections of Highway 3 under the statement are Allison Pass between Hope and Princeton, and Paulson Summit to Kootenay Pass.
