Shell casings found but no guns or suspects present during shots fired report at Star Lodge motel in Kamloops

KAMLOOPS — A notable police presence outside a motel on Columbia Street West was due to a report of shots fired.

Photos posted to social media after 9:00 p.m. Thursday (May 2) showed multiple police vehicles outside the Star Lodge motel.

Speaking to CFJC Today Friday morning, Sgt. Chris Kienzle confirmed Kamloops RCMP officers did find shell casings outside the Star Lodge motel. Although they did not find any guns, suspects or injured individuals.

Due to the investigation being ongoing, Kienzle says Kamloops RCMP are currently unable to share further details.
