Cariboo Memorial Hospital closed early Tuesday morning due to ‘limited nursing availability’
WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — Emergency services will be unavailable in Williams Lake to start Tuesday (April 30) morning.
In a notice late Monday (April 29) afternoon, Interior Health says the emergency department at Cariboo Memorial Hospital would be closed from 6:30 p.m. Monday to 7:30 a.m. due to “limited nursing availability.”
The health authority says all other inpatient services will continue as normal at the Williams Lake hospital but residents who need emergency care are being rerouted to 100 Mile District General Hospital in 100 Mile House or GR Baker Memorial Hospital in Quesnel during the closure.
Residents are asked to call 9-1-1 in the event of an emergency, or HealthLink BC at 8-1-1 24/7 if they’re unsure if they need to seek emergency care.
