Police presence on Lac Le Jeune Road related to ongoing assault investigation
KAMLOOPS — Mounties in Kamloops say a police presence on Lac Le Jeune Road on Monday (April 29) is due to an ongoing assault investigation.
In a news release, Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says at about 7:45 a.m. officers were called to an address in the 1600-block of Lac Le Jeune Road, where a man was heard screaming inside a home.
As police were on their way to the address, more reports came in, indicating an assault had taken place involving weapons.
“On scene, two people were transported to hospital by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries,” Evelyn said in the release. “At this time, the incident appears to be targeted and the general public is not believed to be at risk.”
