Rivers FC to host home openers on Sunday

KAMLOOPS — Rivers FC will begin its third season in semi-pro League 1 B.C. on Sunday (April 27) at Hillside Stadium, with Altitude FC of North Vancouver coming to town for men’s and women’s soccer matches.

The women kick off at 3 p.m., with the men’s game to follow at 5:30 p.m.

Neither the men nor women have qualified for the post-season since the franchise joined the league.

The men posted four wins, six losses and four ties last year to finish sixth among eight teams in regular-season standings.

Positive results have been scarce for the women, who were 1-0-13 in 2023 and have two wins in two seasons.
