Race participants flock to Boogie Expo for package pick up

KAMLOOPS — It’s nearly time for the 27th Annual CFJC TV Boogie the Bridge. Final race preparations are underway ahead of Sunday’s (Apr. 28) event, including Boogie Expo.

Throughout Friday and Saturday, thousands of participants for this year’s event will be picking up their race packages and taking in the sights at the Expo, hosted at the Colombo Lodge.

“Come on down. You’ve got to get your race bib from us and your t-shirt if you signed up early enough,” says Boogie Race Director Jenn Ruemper. “We also have some amazing local vendors here to look and touch and feel the items that they have to offer. And if you didn’t register, you do still have time by coming on down to the Boogie Expo.”

Boogie Expo runs until 7:00 p.m Friday evening and continues Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Registration can also be done at the event on Sunday, and Boogie kicks off at 8:00 a.m. from the 200 block of Victoria Street downtown.

Ruemper notes it’s best to arrive ahead of time.

“Come early, just like at our Expo, on race day we have a lot of fun activities to take part in, music playing downtown, and then once the race starts, all throughout the route,” adds Ruemper.
