Kamloops Wine and Beverage Festival

It’s almost wine o’clock; tickets for Kamloops Wine and Beverage Festival on sale

KAMLOOPS – Tickets for the 26th Annual Kamloops Wine and Beverage Festival went on sale this week and, according to the events organizer, tickets are going fast.

The two-day event takes place at the Colombo Lodge on May 30 and June 1 and will feature more than 30 food and drink vendors.

“It’s a way for people to come and try and sample things that they might not try and sample otherwise. It’s a fun event,” said Judy Basso, event producer for the Kamloops Wine and Beverage Festival. “People get a chance to meet and mingle with their friends. It’s a real festive atmosphere and a way to celebrate great Canadian food and beverages.”

Proceeds from the festival will benefit the Rotary Club of Kamloops West.

Following last year’s sold-out main event, the festival will be hosting two grand tasting events to allow for double the patrons as usual.

“Last year we had a grand tasting event, it filled up so fast, so we added another one into the afternoon and that filled up really quickly as well,” explained Basso. “This year, we’re starting off with two of the grand tasting events on June 1 at the Colombo Lodge, one at 2:00 in the afternoon and 7:30 in the evening, and there’ll be duplicates of each other, so people aren’t going to miss anything.”
